Remembering What Spring Feels Like

One of my most favorite things about spring is remembering what it feels like to walk outside and feel the warmth of the air and sunshine.  Waking up to the cool breeze of an open window, sweet songs of birds chirping, the whir of mowers, the smell of fresh cut grass.  My senses are heightened and it is totally invigorating!  I'm also reminded that there are many things I enjoy doing when spring arrives.  I've been enjoying spring yard-work (well most of it), bike rides, visiting garden centers, golfing, and spring cleaning.

Geraniums are among my favorite flowers!

With the warmer weather comes super-fun yard games!  The husband and I have been busily making and painting sets of cornhole boards for Father's day gifts and just plain ole fun! {Check out our Cornfusion Board Design post here!}

Our latest set of boards for Active Endeavors!  We did a combo of staining and paint for these and they are among my most favorite boards to date!

There will continue to be few posts this month due to my work schedule and prep for the craft fair at the end of the month.  (I will definitely post about that!!)  Hope you are having an awesome May!!

Love ya bunches!

Cornfusion Board Design

For the last year or so my husband Colin and I have been enjoying a little side biz we started called:

We build and paint custom high-quality American Cornhole Association Certified cornhole boards and bags!  After giving a few sets as gifts we got such a great response that it encouraged us to start a business.

We construct our boards and bags as directed by the ACA.  Our frames are built using half-blind dovetail joints and the decks are secured using pocket-hole joinery.  Another fun construction detail that sets our boards apart are our custom scoreboards and cup-holders we integrated in the legs on both boards.  This unique scoring system eliminates any "CORNFUSION" during game-play!

We sew and hand-dye our bags.  We make them from 12oz duck canvas that is extremely durable and we fill them with dried corn from local farmers.

Hey Bob Ross!!!

Alien Boards donated for a benefit.

Sweet legs with integrated scoreboards and cup-holders!

 Birch Tree Boards

Breast Cancer Boards donated for a local benefit.  You can barely see it but there is gold glitter in the topcoat for some sass!

Buffalo!

This one was a blast to paint!!  Cornhole boards def don't have to sports related!

Ohhhhh the drips on this board....I just love them so so so much!!

This is an extremely fun style that we have totally been diggin' lately!  Using a combo of paint and stains to create a neat look!

In addition to the great construction, each and every board is hand-painted or stained...no decals!  We work with each client to figure out a super fun design.  We love the challenge of coming up with new original designs!  If you would like to learn more or order a set check out our website CornfusionBoardDesign.

Have a nice Tuesday!!

Love ya bunches!

Auction for a Cause!

Back in April the family of a little girl named Ali hosted a benefit for her to raise money to help with medical costs associated with Tay-Sachs.  A local carpenter built the cornhole boards and I added the paint.  The event was pretty amazing with a good deal of money raised.  I also had a lot of fun painting these boards!

i heart cornhole!!

I just moved into a new house almost a month ago and have been super busy unpacking, cleaning, painting walls, moving furniture around...blah blah blah.  whew!  I am super pumped because I just finished painting my super rad little studio room!  I can't wait to get things organized and out of boxes so I can get my art on!

Since I haven't done much creating due to the cardboard castles, I thought I'd share a project I completed just before the move.  This project was inspired by an online class I took with Alisa Burke called Graffiti Chic.  First online art class I've ever taken and it was such a blast!!  I highly recommend this class to anyone at any level of artistic ability.  Unleash your wild creative side!!

i heart cornhole!!!

My first dabbling with graffiti and the impromptu kitchen table studio!

Happy Pre-Friday Friends!!
